Jasons question in Discord. Context related to issues with depression and lacking work ethic and realising how related his work ethic was to enthusiasm. Found talking to himself, journaling and daily consistent effort a huge boost.
Bit of a broad question but I've wanted to ask you, Sam, how do you research for your podcast? You have said that you essentially create a rant about a topic and typically reduce it into something more digestible to listeners, but how does the subject matter of the rant become so seemingly objective about how our neuroscience works? I find when I speak about psychology, I can tell that I have some strong biases that mix their way into the conversation and I'd love to learn how to maintain a more objective standpoint. To detach better from a reactive emotion and to be able to respond in a more productive way that will enhance a conversation or situation that I am in. For example: That story about how that man reacted when you left the beans on the stove all day and came back to that huge mess... The way that guy Bob reacted is the end goal lol. A true inspiration in emotional maturity.
